I recently brought a tool box on ebay. I paid directly into their bank account. Can you tell me how I can get a tax receipt so I can claim it back in my tax return.
Most business sellers will send a receipt with the purchase and this will be sufficient to show the cost of the purchase, and in most cases it will also be marked as 'paid'.
If the seller was a private seller, then a copy of the auction listing and proof of payment should be enough to allow you to claim the purchase on your tax.
Print the auction page.
Keep any statement that shows you paid from yoru bank account.
