Do they expect us to buy this? LOL Millionaire sur tax? Fair or not Fair?

Now im watching lolFox News and this guy probably a millionair. Is trying to say that We should not raise taxes on millionairs because it is gonna "discourage" them from trying to run their business and making millions of dollars. Yea right, this little sur tax will make no difference what so ever. Don't believe the lies. Yea, I bet all the CEO's and millionairs are gonna just up and decide. "hey im not gonna make millions no more". As a matter of fact im gonna make sure i make under 400K dollars that way i dont get this sur tax. Sure sure, lol. Discourage people from making millions of dollars. Thats ridiculous and of course millionairs are gonna make up some excuse as to why they dont need a tax increase and Lower and middle class struggling families do. Lower / middleclass people are***Hard working Americans, and the back bone of our country***

What is totally hilarious is that when Reagan rolled back tax rates to the pre-Bush levels he was hailed as a hero by the wealthy. Now that Congress is proposing letting the Bush cuts expire automatically, the Dems are the villains. Maybe they should put the blame where it belongs -- on Bush and the Congress that was in session at that time for making the cuts temporary.

Even with a 10% increase in the rate for the wealthiest taxpayers, not a single one of them is going to leave the US. US taxes will STILL be the lowest of all modern industrialized nations. No REAL American is going to surrender his citizenship over a small tax increase. Nor are they going to stop generating income since they'd only be shooting themselves in the foot for doing so. Tax rates will always be less than 100% so only a first-rate idiot wold forego income to avoid paying the tax on it.

TFTP Report Abuse

You shouldnt watch FOX because they never tell the whole story and they fabricate and distort what is going on. They are not reliable for facts.

Anyway, no person who makes over $500K or $1 mil for a couple will deliberately choose to earn less.

Mostly, the increase in income tax is a matter of eliminating the tax cuts that Bush imposed but with all the other tax breaks wealthy people get, they should not complain about rolling back the rate to 1999.

Let's see, the rich already pay a marginally tax of 35% on their income and you want to make it 40-45% and not call it an increase.

Already 47% of American taxpayers (71 Million) don't pay any income tax. So, even the lower middle class isn't paying.

But let's put this in perspective. If I don't run my own business and my expenses are modest, *why* would I continue working for any reason just to see it eaten up in taxes? My free time is important to me too.

Many of those millionaires were middle class at one time. They worked hard to get where they are. The fact they weren't ignorant enough to stay in a dead end job for their entire life, doesn't mean they should be punished for it.

Apart from that, why should anyone have to pay a higher percentage? If you became a millionaire, would you all of a sudden enjoy paying a higher percentage of your income?

Permit me to introduce you to Zeuz, a self-employed businessman, who ....

1. Earns over $300,000 / year
2. Does not hire employees because the government makes it too onerous to have employees (e.g., workers compensation insurance, employment practices liability, and soon, healthcare insurance, too)
3. Is planning to relocate his business outside the United States to reduce the impact of income taxes.

Keep voting for liberal tax-and-spend policies. Soon all of us "millionaires" will leave the U.S.

millionaires don't bother worrying about their taxes, they have financial mgrs and accountants who take care of all their finances and advise them one way or another
there is no way a millionaire is going to suddenly cease operations simply in order to avoid taxes, they manage to come up with enough exemptions and other deductions to reduce their tax bill

Take your rants to the politics forums, please. This is not the place to "debate" what's fair and what's not.
