Do you know anything about AFLAC short-term disability insurance.?

Anything you can tell me would be helpful.........

Various sales people who work for AFLAC continue to call me through the years and want to show me this great service for employees.

I'm irritated by their persistence, but at the same time, I am curious to know what they are so excited to show me.

If you are in a state that does not offer Short Term Disability insurance, this is definitely something that you should be offering your employees. You can decide if you want it a company benefit or supplemental policy.

As the other person suggested, use a broker instead of direct through AFLAC. I have had multiple clients recently who discontinued AFLAC for other companies.

because it doesn't cost the employer anything. AND, it actually lowers your wage base for the employees that sign up so you'll owe and the employee will owe less FICA. It's a no-brainer. That's why they're excited. But, call a broker because the broker can bring in AFLAC and their competition. Same price through the broker, but they'll do the shopping for you.

They're excited to show you something, because if you buy it, they make money. It's straight commission, those sales jobs.

You should probably read up on short term disability at yahoo finance. Lots of articles there!
