Help with closing a credit card?

I have to close out credit card #2 due to a NEW annual fee. Should I have my available credit transferred to the other accounts in order to keep my credit score from dropping or is it the other way around?
Credit Card:
#1 Opened in 2003 - 0 Balance - available credit - 2,000
#2 Opened in 2006 - 0 Balance - available credit - 4,000
#3 Opened in 2008 - 0 Balance - available credit - 5,000

Card #2 wasn't your oldest and since you don't carry balances on the other cards, closing the account will have very little impact on your score. It's not the available limt but the ratio of credit card debt to limit that impacts your score.

When you close the account, be sure to do it via letter and request written confirmation that the account is closed and 0 balance. Keep your request and the confirmation in your "forever" financial file.
