I know this is relative but with contents worth £12 000, roughly how much would my contents insurance be? I am renting so it will only be contents insurance.
I never had contents insurance so have no clue and welcome a estimate.
Thanks.
It should be between $50 and £100 per year, will depend on:
your postcode,
do you have a burglar alarm,
locking windows,
doors with 2 locks or Multi point locking
live near a river
made claims in the past etc
Will £12k pay for everything in your house from expensive things like TV's down to the last sock... does not sound a lot if you add up the cost of everything in your house if you had to buy it new today..
Always get new for old insurance.
Check out the various online companies or try a local insurance broker.
Go on a comparison site and check, because a lot depends on your postcode and on the security arrangements at the property.
Increasing your excess (voluntary excess) can bring the premium down a bit but extras such as cover for goods away from home, or additional items above the single item limit will increase the premium. Make sure that you have enough cover - if you under-insure and then have a total loss (ie fire) then you won't get everything replaced.
Not sure how much it would be, you would have to get some quotes to find out the price for contents insurance. Try comparison websites, check out http://theycompare.co.uk and click on home insurance, also try http://confused.com and http://gocompare.com and do the same.
You can easily check your quotes in internet, for example here - homeinsurance.awardspace.us
Try Comaprethemarket.com
they will take into account the area and type of security you have etc.
