During this time of most people unemployed I do wonder why they are out on strike. The majority of unemployed people would gladly have their jobs.
Royal Mail have a huge work force nationwide and striking today just doesn't do the trick anymore. Any company willing to take on the work could do that and end the Royal Mail service. It would be doubtful if a private company would to get the financial subsidence from the government that Royal Mail enjoy.
I think there are faults on both sides and they need to compromise as nobody can have it all there own way all of the time.
I would hate to see Royal Mail disappear because most of the private firms would not be prepared to take on the delivery of hand mail. If they did the cost of a stamp would rocket as these companies are only interested in parcels not small things like letters.
Sadly BOT in this country the management always must be in the right and no best- even if they have a 1000 degrees between them. However, some workers doing the same job for 30 years or less certainly will have an idea of whats involved and how to make his job more efficient. Yet this is not recognised or given credit That humble workers actually now how a company works. This mexican stand off between managers and workers if you like, is contemptuous side of british psyche. British workers are slow to modernise. Partly due to this lack of recognition by those in charge.
I understand that they're not getting the best for the work they're putting in, but right now, millions of people would be delighted to have their jobs, so I think that it's unfair that they're complaining and on strike. They should just be grateful that they're in work, unlike many who are really struggling to get by.
It's given a load of smaller parcel delivery services an opportunity to make a load of money delivering bigger items. it's pain about smaller items and letter though their was nothing in place right now to replace that. but i think they stand to lose a good amount of business long term if this happens again, just on bigger items though.
The management at Royal Mail have forced the workers into this situation, I think anyone would go on strike if they were treated the way Royal Mail have treated their workforce.
i dont know what they are moaning about. they have an easy job. if they can clear a 30 million letters backlog in a few days it shows how easy they get it on a normal days work.
I don't blame them to be honest, its not their fault it's bosses that have forced them to do this, cause they are selfish!
we all are human and want more ,and if they don't ask they woun't get.
there are nothing to lose few days off and maybe some extra money.
My friend got scamed. I got no othere answers.
Don't care to be honest. We're still getting our post perfectly on time around here :)
sack the royal mail, keep the workforce.
They have not gone on strike for fun.
