Employment Applications- Questions on sex, race and Consumer Report?

The questions at the end of an employment application ie Are You Latino or Hispanic, What Race are you : African American , White , Native American, Asian ..etc ..etc ..
Are you Male/Female
Do these questions allow for discrimination? With the Job Market so tight and down right apocalyptic .... do we really need to give employers the opportunity to discriminate and hire not by Qualification but by Race or Sex? Down here in South Florida I dont think White Males have a chance.
And..what about the Consumer Report? What business is it of an employer to be able to look at your spending habits? Isnt a criminal report good enough to determine character? I can see if you are applying for a job in the financial sector ...but anything else? Hell no. Im writing to my Congressman about this nonsense.

Because of stupid laws buisness's with x number employees must have certain percentages of minorities so therefore it is legal to ask the question, you may legally leave that question blank however. As for credit check if your going to be around money they want to know if your up to you nose in debt. Credit does show what kind of person you are. Some places have to by law do it in order to be bonded. ususally some place that deals with other peoples personal information. Iv had to submit to this when i did service plumbing, wharehouse work and Management.

Some employers do need to check the credit report of a potential employee. It's a fair question. The race and gender questions are set up to promote as much equality as possible in the workplace.
