Tax benifit Transfer property to father and stay in rent?

Hi Have a property in my name. I would like to transfer the same to my father. how much ti will cost. After the transfer I would like to take pay the rent to my father. Will the rent income will be taxable under my income. My parents income is zero

You can gift the property to your father by way of gift deed registration. The transfer cost may be around 0.5% to 1% depending on the State to State. In Andhra Pradesh it is 1%.

The transfer fee (gift) will be collected on the Govt. value of that property and not on the market value of the property.

After the gift deed is registered, your father will become the owner of the property and you can pay rent to your father. The rental income will be the income of your father and by way of paying rent to your father, you can claim HRA.

If you are paying rent to your father and he has no other income so it will not be taxable income if its below 1,20000/ per annum
