Would a career diploma be considered as good as an associates degree when trying to get a job?

i am looking to maybe do medical coding and billing or maybe something in the field of business...so i was thinking of getting a career diploma in something specific...example; medical coding and billing so i was wondering if i get that instead of a assoc degree in business admin or something would the company i am trying to work for equal me to some1 with an associates degree? do i have a chance of getting hired or is a career diploma a sign of laziness?

Getting a degree in a specific field is not a good decision.
For example, if you didn't get a job doing medical coding and that's what your degree is in.......... it will be hard for you to get another job.

If you get a degree with wide-range of jobs..... you can get your medical coding job and if that doesn't work out, you can get another similar job.

They probably will equal you with others.

If the career diploma program is of the same length and intensity as an Associates Degree, then it would be equal. Otherwise, if a career diploma can be earned in a shorter time period or has fewer educational requirements, no they're not equal. Future employers will be aware of the educational programs in your location and will know which are valuable in preparation for job offerings.
