my aunt is a coowner of my bank account just to watch my money. She kind of forced me to let her. Does this mean it is her money now? Would i be able to take out all the money and open a new account in a different bank?

It depends on how the account is set up. Are you already allowed to make withdrawals on your own without her present? If so, then you can close the account at any time. If she is a co-owner on the account, then legally she can withdrawal the money at any time she wishes. You don't even have to take your money to a different bank. You can use the same bank, just don't add your aunt to the account. By law if your aunt is not on the account as co-owner or guardian, the bank cannot give her any information about the account.

~~If you are of age to open your own account, then yes you can pull all your money out of the account your aunt is on too, then close it.
Then just open a new account in your name only. You do not need her permission to remove the money in the joint account, nor to close it.~~

If you're co-owners, that means that "either" of you should be able to withdraw all the money.
I'd do it before she does, if it were me. Just tell her you've decided you'd rather have an individual account. If she says she wants to be added to the new account, just politely but firmly tell her no.

If you are over 18, and unless the money is part of a trust fund type-thing with limitations, you should be able to take your money anywhere you want.

yes, u can take out all the money, but she will know about it
