I have applied for a moblie phone contract yesterday with T Mobile over the internet and expect to be recieving the SIM over the next few days. However I am only just 18 years old and do not have a credit history, so am not entirely sure if I will pass the credit check or not. Will the company notify me if they are not going to be sending th SIM out?
By law, if a company rejects you based on information in one your credit reports, they must tell you and must send you a letter informing you of your rights to a free copy of your credit report from whichever credit reporting agency they used. You will know that you were rejected when you get this letter.
If they approve you, they do not have to tell you, but you will know when you get the SIM.
They should notify you just to be courteous. Usually a credit check like that one does not take long. Because it is not like a mortgage or credit card many mobile companies a re bit more flexible.
As an added bonus it will start your credit foundation off which to build.
A great tip would be to follow up on friday to see if your contract is finalized. Ask it like that, not if your credit is approved. If you speak with authority and are requesting contract information, you'll more likely get a positive answer.
Good Luck
If you passed, they would let you know right away. Worst case scenario, you'll have to pay a deposit with a credit card. If you want your phone right away, I'd go into a TMobile store. Good luck!
