I have called each business and explained to them that they have the wrong number but they keep calling back after 3 months or less. Is there a way to get them to stop permanently or would I be better off getting a new number?
Same thing was happening to me. I called numerous times explaining they had the wrong number. I finally threatened with calling the attorney general's office. That stopped them
Tell them to stop or else you'll pursue legal action. They are required to stop calling if you ask. You can legally do something about it if they do not.
you can get a new number but I would just rather mess with them. like "hey guys I've missed you guys sooo much you never call anymore I was getting to think you forgot about me, wait dont hang up.....ummmm......watcha wearing?"
To keep calling you after they have been informed that they have an incorrect number could be considered harrasement and you should call your state attorney generals office and make a complaint.
You would have to put this into writing for each collector, every time. A new # would be easier.
