Online Auto Insurance Quotes, Is it really safe and accurate?

I know several people who have submitted their information into one of the many "online auto insurance quotes" and now they have solicitors all over them, on their phone, emails, junk mail and even one case of Social Security Identity theft. So my question is: Are these online auto insurance quotes really safe? Doesn't it make sense to stay with a local auto insurance agent you can do business with either on the phone or in person.

It's smart move to call around and get quotes. You need to do some leg work on this because each company will look at your record and intended vehicle differently. see this

it's one form to get a number of quotes from different insurers. It's free and a big time saver, these are all the main American insurers competing to get your business so you are bound to find something that suits
you, if not, here's more from my bookmarks

you'll find the best or cheapest insurance you wanted, after doing proper research.

Hope this help,

Right. The main point of those online places, is to harvest your personal information. They then sell it as 'leads' to agents, sometimes hundreds of agents.

So no, they're NOT safe, and they're not particularly accurate, either, as THEY aren't going to pay the $15 per quote to double check your credit score or driving record.
