Will the collection agency get mad at me since I am judgment proof?

I am on SSD and SSI aka social sec disability. The collection agency is gonna sue me but they can't take any money from me cuz i don't owe assets or anything and I'm on disability.

Are they gonna get mad since they can't collect?

The agency is a business, it does not have emotions. Only people have emotions.

The people who own the business might be mad because they're going to lose money, but then again collections agencies lose money all the time, they just try to manage it by collecting more than they lose.

By the way, if you ever put your money in a bank, they might be able to levy the bank account. They can't garnish your disability but once its in a bank account it doesn't matter where it came from.

Also, if you don't pay this debt, you'll never be able to get credit again. Nobody is going to loan you money with unpaid judgments on your record, so this will be the LAST debt you get away with not paying.

If you have no attachable assets then there is little they can legally do to you.

To stop the letters & phone calls, you need only to write to them, telling them you are exercising your rights under the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act, & advise them to cease & desist further contact. Once you give such notice they are required by law to do so. Whether they get mad at you is irrelavant & immaterial.

Of course, none of these actions would prevent your credit rating from going down the sewer.

Having said all that, the ethical thing to do might be to contact the creditor(s) & see whether they would agree to a settlement, if it's reasonably within your means to do so.

Yes they'll get mad.
No, you shouldn't care that they do if you are not able to pay.

I would suggest you find a small community bank, perhaps even in another town with no nearby branches. Reason is they can levy the account if they find out where your account is. They can't actually keep the money because disability is protected from levy, but banks aren't very good at figuring that part out and they can freeze your funds. This is very aggravating and can cause big problems with bounced checks, etc until it's reversed. Even then, it's a good idea to pull the money out the day it hits your account. You never know when they'll tie everything up.

im sure but if owed a court they can still take action aganst you .if your on ssi a goverment check can take judgment 100% owed of gardgment .or bank accounts .property .anybody can sue anybody.if sued you may set up payment arrangment s to collction what you can afford to pay

you need to file paperwork with the bank that your only income is ssi. and is exempt from garnishment.
if they get a judgement all they can do is get a lien on any property you own now or in the future. which means if you sell it they get there cut.

Who cares? Let them sue you.

So what if they collector does get mad?
