I live in Florida but work in Alabama. Florida has no income tax. I pay taxes in Alabama. when I file my tax return will I be refunded the tax I paid?
Of course you can itemize the tax you paid to Alabama, but if you don't itemize, it's not going to change your tax bill.
If you work in Alabama, you have to pay taxes in Alabama. Most people in your situation would get a credit in their home state for taxes paid to the nonresident state. But, for people who live in Florida, that does not do you any good because Florida has no resident state tax.
your 'tax' home is Alabama, you file 1040 in that state and you will file Alabama state taxes
if you are due a refund, of course you will receive it
No. Since you work in AL, AL can tax your AL income. Sorry, but that's the way that it works.
