Is it true that SSI is judgment proof but SSDI is not against credit card debt in California?

I read somewhere a person saying SSI is judgment proof but SSDI is not.

Do I need to call my social security office?

Here's the problem.

If SS payments are your ONLY income, creditors are not supposed to try to grab the money. However, with the judgement, many will levy the bank account. So while the SSA won't send them the check, the bank often will--even when it's clear that the ONLY money in the account is the SS check. You can protest, but it can take weeks to get the money returned.
