I signed up with a temporary service. A few weeks ago and they told me that most likely I will not be making the amount like was from my previous Job Which got eliminated due to budget cuts and down sizing. So if they call and offer me a temp position then I am lade off again. How will that effect my unemployment benefits for example I am receiving XXX amount from unemployment I take this job I am only offered XX amount for the job and most likely I will get laid off again but when that happens will I still be able to claim the same amount from my first Application or do they go by the amount from the current employer? Or do I have to start a new claim??
It depends on how much time has gone by. Once you start collecting, your weekly benefit rate is usually fixed for one year from the date that your benefit year began. If you stop collecting, and start collecting again during that one year period, the old rate continues until the end of that one year period. If you are collecting when that time period ends, or resume collecting after that time period ends, then a new rate is calculated.
In California you are able to keep your unemployment but you have to report your earnings. They will deduct earnings from unemployment. So if you get 500 every 2 weeks and you worked and made $50 you will get 450 from unemployment.
Hope this helps.
AFAIK:
you stick with your original claim until it expires. report your earnings
from what ever odd jobs you do get in the meantime. reductions to unemployment payments will be from your weekly benefit amount as originally calculated,
