I am receiving SSDI (Disability Insurance). Am I eligible for Medicaid?

I call my local Social Security office every day during their business hours and no one ever answers and I call at different times of the days.

LOL and you just can't WAIT to get government HEALTH insurance, because the service you're getting on government disability insurance is so great??

Well, you're automatically eligible for Medicare, if you're on SSDI. But you probably already have that. Medicaid, is going to depend on household income, and the number of people who live there. You can apply.

Not a burn, just a comment on how "great" government programs are. I'm self employed - 15% of my pay, goes straight to SSDI and SSI. Employed people, split that 15% with their employer - so 7 1/2% of their GROSS PAY, pays your benefits. I don't NEED to know your disability. Got my own problems. Report Abuse

yes! automatically, when you receive SSDI &SSI! i have SSDI! in 2 yrs you will be getting medicare!

You are eligible for Medicare, not Medicaid.
