AM I QUALIFIED FOR Unemployment benefit?

I was fired because I left job early due to no customers after 5 hours. My boss fired me a day later.

(I'm asking for my mom)

Was this the 1st time she did this, or have done several times before?

Was there anyone else there, when she left early? If she was the only person there, her boss could argue that even no customers and say the business is open for 8 to 12 hours, that someone could have come and saw closed and lost business.

Did she call him and state, hey we have had no customers at all today and I have nothing to do, can I go home and he stated, no, stay till your shift is over. Or she left and did not call to inform the boss she was leaving early and maybe he "dropped by" and saw business closed.

This maybe a hard sell to convince that leaving may have put the business in jeopardy or lose potential or past customers.

good luck

It wasn't even her working day, she was working in place of another person who was supposed to work that day. Report Abuse

I hope she gets lucky and gets approved. She did him a favor and he paid her back with letting her go, which sucks. good luck to your mother Report Abuse

No you are not eligible for unemployment if you are fired for misconduct. Your mom can submit a claim for unemployment. If you google unemployment and your state you will find the unemployment website for your state. Your mom can file a claim to find out for sure. The state will review her claim and send her a letter letting her know what they have decided. If your mom's unemployment claim is denied she may be able to apply for welfare or food stamps.
