Another strike over pay , just how much does a Royal Mail Postman get paid per hour?

http://uk.biz.yahoo.com/091015/140/is2ei…

too much by the sounds of it going by the above that is roughly £17,500 for strolling around the streets and dropping a few letters through post boxes. There are many people out there earning a lot less in harder, more dangerous jobs. They know the government are week and have to always be seen to be fair so they know if the keep moaning and keeping the nation to ransom they'll probably get the pay rises they want. If they worked in any private business they would have all been sacked a long time ago, the royal mail is a sinking ship and the employees are the hole in its hull. I bet there arn't many that actually work their hours as they go home once they finish their round. (maybe they do a full day on the weeks after their little strikes I dunno?)

A strike, in the current economic climate, is madness ..

Other industries are making people redundant, cutting pay and closing pension schemes .. the only reason the Postal workers believe they are some-how 'immune' to this is because they come from the 'public sector' environment where the Taxpayer provides a bottomless source of never-ending 'free money' ..

Unfortunately they haven't woken up to the fact that the Tax payer is no longer willing to keep paying paying paying .. and sooner (rather than later) the cold wind of privatisation is going to hit them ..

A strike is exactly what they need to drive away the few remaining Businesses that rely on their 'service' .. and guarantee that in 5 years time less than half of them will still have jobs.

my husband is a postman and he gets 268 take home for 42 hour week well its ment to be 42 hour but some times he is still dilivering at 4pm
