the contract if I talk to them about it? I have faithfully paid my monthly payments, not now I could use that money for food since I can't even go to the gym anyway because I have to conserve gas. Do you think they will be understanding?
It never hurts to ask them. All gyms are different and I'm sure they will be understanding with the economy the way it is. You don't have any other options. I think food and other bills come before the gym!
Most of the time, if you ask and talk to them about it, regardless if it is a gym or another company, they will work with you!
It depends on the gym. At 24hour when you sign up, you pay for your first and last month, so you need to give a 30 day notice. If it is past your tap day (the day your payments are taken and applied to your account) then the last payment will be prorated.
Call your gym and ask them what are their terms for cancellation
No. Gyms rarely let anyone stop paying for any reason. Sometimes, even when the contract ends, they "renew" it even if you tell them not to do so. Once you sign a gym contract, they sometimes force to keep paying for the rest of your life, maybe longer.
If you are on a month to month membership you will be able to get out of your contract. You should read through your contract to find out what the cancellation policy is.
look at the contract. There should be a section on terms of cancellation. If not covered, discuss it with the gym manager. They may let you out of it.
Doubt it....its a contract, they are out to make money they don't really care if you lost your job. Sound harsh but its the truth.
